What to know about RFK Jr.’s ‘We the People’ party

You’ve heard of the Democratic Party, the Republican Party, the Libertarian Party, maybe even the Green Party. But have you heard of the We the People party?

Unlike the two major parties, which have specific platforms, the We the People party isn’t about policy but rather ballot access.

The We the People party was formed to help get Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s name on the presidential ballot in November in states where belonging to a political party is an easier path to ballot access than running as an independent. So far, the campaign has said the party has gathered signatures in California, Delaware, Hawaii, Mississippi and North Carolina — and Kennedy says he expects to be on the ballot in every state, possibly siphoning votes away from President Biden and former president Donald Trump.
